The scheme “Opening and Maintenance of Boys and Girls Hostels” by the Adi Dravidar Welfare Dept, Government of Puducherry, provides boarding/lodging and hostel facilities to Scheduled Caste students in pursuance of their education and to dissuade dropping of education at school and college level.
The “Mukhyamantri Anusoochit Jaati Evam Anusoochit Janajati Chhatrawas Anudan Yojana” was launched by the SC and ST Welfare Department, Government of Bihar aims to provide financial assistance in every month to the students studying in Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe hostels.

The scheme “Housing Assistance (Madhya Pradesh)” by the Tribal Welfare and Scheduled Caste (SC) Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, provides housing support to tribal boys and girls pursuing higher education outside their hometown, where hostels are not available.
The Scheme “Anya Pichhda Varg Kalyan Chhatravaas” under the BC & EBC Welfare Department, Bihar. under this scheme, provied ₹1,000/- per month hostel grant is provided for each student and 15 kg of free food grains per month (9 kg rice + 6 kg wheat).
Launched in 1966-67, the scheme “Chhatrawas” is a welfare scheme by the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department, Govt of MP. The scheme provides free residential facilities in Scheduled Caste hostels for boys and girls studying in educational institutions.
The scheme “Ashram Schools” was launched on 1st January 1966 by the Tribal Welfare and Scheduled Caste (SC) Department of Madhya Pradesh. The scheme provides free accommodation, mess, and education facilities to Scheduled Tribe students.
The “Jan-Nayak Karpoori Thakur Kalyan Hostel Scheme” by the BC & EBC Welfare Department, Bihar provides hostel facilities for students near Saharsa District with food grains (9 kg rice, 6 kg wheat) and ₹1000/- per month as a grant.
The scheme aims to support students from SC, ST, OBC, MBC, and EWS categories by providing financial aid for accommodation. The students receive ₹2,000/- per month for up to 10 months per academic year.
Under this scheme, free accommodation, nutritious meals, educational materials, uniforms, personal hygiene items, and other facilities are provided to Scheduled Tribe (ST) students residing in ashram hostels operated by the Tribal Area Development Department.
The “Free Caste Hostel” scheme by the Department of De-notified, Nomadic, and Semi-Nomadic Welfare, Government of Madhya Pradesh, provides a scholarship of ₹1,230 per month for boys and ₹1,270 per month for girls for 10 months.
“Integrated Hostel Scheme” by the Tribal Welfare and Scheduled Caste (SC) Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, provides free residential facilities, meals, and basic amenities to SC/ST/OBC students studying in classes 1st to 12th and also to the students pursuing college education.
The scheme “Operation of SC Senior Hostel” provides accommodations and a conducive learning environment for Scheduled Caste students. Through this scheme, separate junior, senior, and college hostels with free boarding and lodging facilities are provided to both boys and girls.
The scheme provides financial assistance towards hostel rent for Scheduled Tribe students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate courses in government colleges, who are staying in rented accommodation for the purpose of regular studies.
The food bill assistance at the rate of ₹1,500/- per month (Up to 10 Months) will be granted to the Scheduled Caste (SC) students admitted in college-affiliated hostels.
