The “Mukhyamantri Anusoochit Jaati Evam Anusoochit Janajati Chhatrawas Anudan Yojana” was launched by the SC and ST Welfare Department, Government of Bihar, to provide financial assistance every month to students studying in Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe hostels.
Mukhyamantri Anusuchit Jati Evam Anusuchit Janjati Chhatrawas Anudan Yojana - Introduction
The 'Mukhyamantri Anusoochit Jaati Evam Anusoochit Janajati Chhatrawas Anudan Yojana' was launched by the SC and ST Welfare Department, Government of Bihar, to provide ₹1,000/- per month to students studying in Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe hostels.
Under this scheme, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students studying in hostels are provided with a cot, mattress, bed sheet, table, chair, and cooking utensils. The objective is to enhance the facilities available to students, raise awareness of higher education among students from weaker sections of society, increase enrollment in higher education, and meet hostel-related needs.

Eligibility
- The student should be a resident of Bihar state.
- The student should belong to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
- The student should be enrolled in and residing in hostels as per the guidelines and instructions of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Welfare Department.
- The student should be studying in a recognised course.
- The student should be studying in a recognised educational institution.
Exclusions
Application Process
- Step 1: The interested applicant requests a hard copy of the prescribed format of the application form from the hostel superintendent or writes an application on plain paper.
- Step 2: Submit the duly filled and signed application along with the documents to the hostel superintendent.
- Step 3: After receiving the student's application, the list of students and related information will be uploaded online on the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Welfare Department portal by the hostel superintendent.
