Running of Scheduled Caste Hostel - Introduction

Running of Scheduled Caste Hostels scheme by the Tribal Welfare and Scheduled Caste (SC) Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, aims to provide housing and a conducive study environment for Scheduled Caste students. Separate junior, senior, and college hostels are operated for boys and girls, offering free accommodation and food facilities to support their education.

Benefits

  • Scholarship, free food and accommodation, sports equipment, toiletry kit, and library facilities.
  • 90% of the scholarship amount is paid in the joint account of the hostel superintendent and mess secretary (student) for running the mess.
  • 10% is paid in the student's account.

Eligibility

  • The applicant should be a student.
  • The applicant should belong to a Scheduled Caste.
  • The applicant should be a native of Madhya Pradesh.
  • The applicant should be enrolled in a recognized institution.

The applicant should note that there is no income limit for admission to senior hostels.

Application Process

  • STEP 1: Obtain the application form from the Divisional District Office or the Designated Hostel.
  • STEP 2: Fill in all the mandatory fields and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attestation, if required).
  • STEP 3: Submit the completed application to the concerned hostel within the stipulated deadline fixed by the District President. Ensure the application is forwarded by the Head of the Institution before submission.
  • STEP 1: The concerned Divisional District Officer will verify the application and supporting documents.
  • STEP 2: Upon approval, admission will be granted based on hostel capacity and compliance with prerequisites.

Applications must be submitted within one month after the date fixed for admission in schools.
