The "Registered BOC Workers in Case of Accidental Death" scheme by the JKBOCW Welfare Board, Labour Department, Jammu & Kashmir, provides financial assistance to the nominee or dependents of registered BOC workers in the event of accidental death.

Registered BOC Workers in case of an Accidental Death (JKBOCWWB) - Introduction

Launched on 1st January 2018, the scheme "Registered BOC Workers in Case of Accidental Death" is a Welfare Scheme by the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, Labour Department, Jammu & Kashmir. Through this scheme, financial assistance of ₹4,00,000/- is provided to the nominee or dependents of registered BOC workers in the event of an accidental death. The applications are accepted online as well as offline.

Rs. 4,00,000/- is provided to the nominee or dependents of the deceased worker.

Eligibility

For Registration as a Building/ Construction Worker:

  • The applicant should be a resident of Jammu & Kashmir.
  • The applicant should be a Building/ Construction Worker.
  • The applicant should be between 18 and 60 years.
  • The applicant should have engaged in any building or other construction work for at least 90 days during the preceding 12 months.
  • The applicant's registration is renewed annually.

For the Application of the Welfare Scheme:

  • The applicant should be a nominee/dependent of a registered member/worker who has passed away due to accidental death.

Application Process

  • Step 1: The interested applicant should visit the JKBOCWWB office during office hours and request a hard copy of the prescribed application form from the staff responsible for issuing and collecting filled-in applications. OR The interested applicant can print the Scheme application form (Page no. 19).
  • Step 2: In the application form, fill in all mandatory fields, paste a passport-sized photograph (signed across, if required), and attach copies of all mandatory documents (self-attested, if required).
  • Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the required documents to the Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC) of your district.
  • Step 4: Request a receipt or acknowledgement from the concerned authority upon submission. Ensure the receipt contains essential details such as the date and time of submission and a unique identification number (if applicable).
  • NOTE: Ensure that the application is submitted within the prescribed period, if any.
