The "Professional Education" scheme by the JKBOCW Welfare Board, Jammu & Kashmir, provides financial assistance to regular students pursuing Para Medical, ITI, Engineering, and other recognized diploma or professional/technical degree courses.

Professional Education (PEJKBOCWWB) - Introduction

The "Professional Education" scheme by the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, Labour Department, Jammu & Kashmir, provides financial assistance to the children of registered workers who have engaged in at least 90 days of building or construction work in the preceding 12 months. Under this scheme, regular students receive ₹10,000/- for Para Medical and ITI diploma courses, ₹30,000/- for 3-year engineering or other recognized diploma courses, and ₹50,000/- for professional or technical degree courses.

Benefits

Financial Assistance based on the Educational Qualification -

  • Para Medical Diploma Courses (Regular Students): ₹10,000/-.
  • ITI Diploma Courses (Regular Students): ₹10,000/-.
  • 3-Year Engineering / Any Other Recognized Diploma Courses (Regular Students): ₹30,000/-.
  • Professional / Technical Degree Courses (Regular Students): ₹50,000/-.

Eligibility

The applicant should be a resident of Jammu & Kashmir. The applicant should be a Building/Construction Worker. The applicant should be between 18 and 60 years. The applicant should have engaged in any building or other construction work for at least 90 days during the preceding 12 months. The registration of the applicant should be renewed annually.

  • For Application - The parents must be registered members of the "Jammu & Kashmir Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board".
  • The parents must have an active membership with the JKBOCWW Board.
  • The applicant must be a student.
  • The applicant must be a regular in attendance.

Exclusions

Application Process

  • Step 1: The interested applicant should visit the JKBOCWWB office during office hours and request a hard copy of the prescribed application form from the staff responsible for issuing and collecting filled-in applications. OR The interested applicant should print the jkbocw.gov.in.
  • Step 2: In the application form, fill in all mandatory fields, paste a passport-sized photograph (signed across, if required), and attach copies of all mandatory documents (self-attested, if required).
  • Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the required documents to the Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC) of your district. Ensure submission is made within any prescribed period, if applicable.
  • Step 4: Request a receipt or acknowledgement from the concerned authority upon submission. Ensure the receipt contains essential details such as the date and time of submission and a unique identification number (if applicable).
