The objectives of the scheme are to boost the area and production of all plantation crops such as Arecanut, Cashew nut, Coconut, Pineapple, etc., and to provide a 50% subsidy for planting materials and construction of a soakage tank.

Plantation Crop Development Scheme - Introduction

Plantation Crop Development Scheme was launched by the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Government of Meghalaya to boost the area and production of all plantation crops like Arecanut, Cashewnut, Coconut, Pineapple etc., and to provide 50% subsidy for planting materials and construction of soakage tanks.

Benefits

Type of assistance:

  • Financial assistance at a 50% subsidy for purchasing of planting materials, and polypipes.
  • Financial assistance at a 50% subsidy for the construction of soakage tank.

Pattern of assistance:

  • One-year assistance.

Eligibility

  • The applicant/farmer should be a resident of Meghalaya.
  • The applicant should be a bonafide farmer engaged in agriculture, possessing own or leased land at least 0.2 hectares or more.

Note: The applicant farmer can avail of the benefits of the scheme on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Application Process

  • Step 01: The eligible bona fide farmer can apply by writing an application on plain paper.
  • Step 02: Along with the application, attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self‑attest, if required).
  • Step 03: Submit the duly filled and signed application along with the documents at your nearest office of the Horticulture Development Officer of a CD Block/Horticulture Circle.

Mode of Selection of Beneficiary(s): Bona fide farmers on a first‑come, first‑served basis.
