Merit Scholarship: Polytechnic Institutions is a scholarship scheme by the Technical Education Department, Government of Chhattisgarh. The scheme provides ₹600 per month to eligible students for pursuing education from recognized polytechnic institutions in Chhattisgarh.
Eligible applicants include:
- Students who have passed the 10th/12th class examination under the 10+2 system from any recognized institution located in Chhattisgarh with a minimum of 60% marks.
- Students newly admitted to the second year of the Diploma program who are ITI/12th vocational certificate holders and have passed the qualifying examination with a minimum of 60% marks.
Benefits
- For students newly admitted to the first year of the Diploma program: ₹600/- per month.
- For students admitted to the second year through lateral entry: ₹600/- per month.
Eligibility
- The applicant must be a native resident student of Chhattisgarh.
- The applicant must be currently studying in a recognized polytechnic institution in Chhattisgarh.
- The applicant must have secured a minimum of 60% marks in the qualifying examination.
- Students who have passed the 10th/12th class examination under the 10+2 system from any recognized institution located in Chhattisgarh with a minimum of 60% marks will be eligible.
- Students newly admitted to the second year of the Diploma program who are ITI/12th vocational certificate holders must have passed the qualifying examination with a minimum of 60% marks.
Other Conditions -
- Without special approval from the government, no student will receive more than one scholarship at the same time. However, if the institution where they are studying has given them any fee concession, they will be entitled to continue receiving it.
- If any scholarship becomes vacant during its duration, the approving authority can award the unexpired portion of the scholarship to the next eligible and deserving candidate from the merit list.
- Only students who have passed the qualifying examination from any testing body in Chhattisgarh are eligible to receive scholarships. Children of permanent government employees of Chhattisgarh who are on deputation to the Government of India or any other state government can be exempted from this condition.
- Students who are in full-time employment will not be eligible to receive scholarships. However, a student who is regularly studying in a recognized institution and receiving a scholarship may be allowed to do part-time work, but only one concession can be given.
Application Process
- Step 1: The interested applicant should visit the Office of the Principal of the Institution and request a hard copy of the prescribed format of the application form from the institute staff.
- Step 2: In the application form, fill in all mandatory fields, paste the passport-sized photograph (signed across, if required), and attach copies of all mandatory documents (self-attested, if required).
- Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the documents, within the prescribed period (if any), to the staff. The Principal will verify the documents and forward the application to the Directorate for approval (new applications) or process the renewal (for existing beneficiaries).
- Step 4: Request a receipt or acknowledgement from the staff to whom the application was submitted. Ensure that the receipt contains essential details such as the date and time of submission, and a unique identification number (if applicable).
