Kharmore Sonchidia Award Scheme - Introduction
In the scheme "Kharmore Sonchidia Award" by the Forest Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, the farmers are rewarded with ₹5,000/- if a Kharmor bird is sighted in the private land of the farmer and ₹10,000/- if a Golden bird is sighted in the private land of the farmer. The farmers are rewarded provided they ensure the protection of the birds, their eggs, and their habitat on their private land.
Benefits
Reward of ₹5,000/- on Sighting of Kharmor Bird
- Installment 1: ₹1,000/- if sighted in July-August
- Installment 2: ₹4,000/- if sighted in the same area in September-October
Reward of ₹10,000/- on Sighting of Golden Bird
- Installment 1: ₹2,000/- for the first sighting
- Installment 2: ₹8,000/- if sighted again in the same area
Eligibility
- The applicant should be a farmer or landowner.
- The applicant should own private land.
- Either Kharmor Bird or Golden Bird should have been sighted on the applicant’s land.
- The applicant should have ensured the protection of the birds, their eggs, and their habitat without causing harm.
Application Process
The interested farmer should make an appeal to the Concerned Divisional Forest Officer/Deputy Director.
