The scheme is designed to support economically disadvantaged families belonging to the SC/ST and minority communities by providing one-time financial assistance for the marriage of their daughters.

Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam - Introduction

The scheme "Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam" was launched in 2014 by the Backward Classes Welfare Department, Government of Telangana. It aims to alleviate financial distress in SC/ST and minority families by providing financial assistance to unmarried girls at the time of marriage. Under this scheme, a one-time financial assistance of ₹1,00,116 (₹1,25,145 for disabled girls) is provided to eligible girls at the time of marriage.

Benefits

  • One-time financial assistance of ₹1,00,116/- for unmarried SC/ST and minority girls at the time of marriage.
  • One-time financial assistance of ₹1,25,145/- for disabled girls, irrespective of caste, under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
  • The amount is directly credited to the bride’s bank account.
  • Only one-time assistance is allowed in a lifetime.

Eligibility

  • The applicant should be an unmarried girl belonging to the SC/ST/BC/EBC community.
  • The applicant should be a resident of Telangana.
  • The applicant should be 18 years of age at the time of marriage.
  • The applicant's marriage should be scheduled on or after October 2, 2014.
  • The applicant’s parental income should not exceed ₹2,00,000/- per annum.

Note: Enhanced financial support is available for disabled girls under Section 24(1) of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.

Exclusions

  • Applicants who have already availed the benefit once are not eligible.

Application Process

  • Step 1: Visit the official ePASS website at telanganaepass.cgg.gov.in.
  • Step 2: Select "Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam" scheme.
  • Step 3: Fill in the bride’s personal, caste, income, and address details.
  • Step 4: Upload scanned documents including Aadhaar, caste/income certificates, bank passbook, marriage certificate/photo, etc.
  • Step 5: Apply online.
  • Step 6: A unique application number will be generated.
  • Step 7: Await verification from the Welfare Department.
  • Step 8: Upon approval, the sanctioned amount will be credited to the bride’s bank account.
  • Step 9: Save acknowledgment/receipt for future reference.
