This is a sub-scheme under the 'Investment Promotion Scheme (IPS)', implemented by the Department of Industries, U.T. Administration of DNH & DD, that aims to provide additional tools/equipment to SC/ST/OBC/EWS communities to generate adequate income and self-employment.
Investment Promotion Scheme (IPS) For Handicraft Artisans: Assistance For Capital Investment To Uplift The Economic Condition Of Artisans/ Persons - Introduction
The scheme “Assistance For Capital Investment To Uplift The Economic Condition Of Artisans/Persons” is a sub‑scheme under the “Investment Promotion Scheme (IPS)” for handicraft artisans. It was launched on 3rd July 2015 for a period of five years by the Dept. of Industries, U.T. Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu. Now it has been extended further from 20th May 2022 and shall be operative till 19th May 2027.
Objective of the “Investment Promotion Scheme (IPS)”
The scheme envisages providing incentives and assistance to the MSME sector in order to nurture them and protect them from market vagaries, thereby making them vibrant and successful. This, in turn, makes the U.T. a special hub for the MSME sector; maximizes women participation in the business sector, reduces unemployment among local residents, and incentivizes industries to employ resident laborers, etc.
Objective of the “Assistance For Capital Investment To Uplift The Economic Condition Of Artisans/Persons” sub‑scheme
Under this scheme, additional tools and equipment shall be provided to SC/ST/OBC/EWS communities to generate adequate income and self‑employment. Persons engaged in 27 different activities, such as hawkers, vegetable vendors, carpenters, etc., shall be provided financial assistance in the form of tools and equipment over and above the existing schemes.

Eligibility
- The applicant should be a Handloom and Handicrafts artisan.
- The applicant should be a resident of the U.T. of Dadra and Nagar Haveli & Daman and Diu.
- The applicant should be above 18 years of age.
- The applicant should belong to the SC/ST/OBC/EWS communities.
- The applicant should be engaged in 27 different activities, as mentioned in the Official Guidelines (Refer to pages 47 & 48 of the document).
- Applicant’s annual income should be up to ₹2,00,000/- for rural areas and up to ₹2,50,000/- in urban areas.

Application Process
- Registration Process:
- Visit the Registration page of the official website.
- Provide the information in the respective input fields and click on “Register”.
- Verify your email address using the verification link sent to your email (if the mail is not received, check your inbox or spam folder).
- Click the link/URL in the received email or paste the link/URL in the browser’s address bar to complete your account verification.
- Enter “111111” as OTP to verify your mobile number. The mobile number and PIN will be successfully sent to the registered email address.
- On successful registration, the login credentials will be received in the registered email.
Application Process:
- Visit the user Login page of the official website.
- Enter the registered mobile number along with the PIN sent to your email, then click “Log In”.
- On successful login, click on the “Departments & Services” tab from the left side menu bar.
- Scroll down to “District Industries Centre DD & DNH” and click the “Click Here” button to apply for the “Investment Promotion Scheme: 2022 to 2027 (20 May 2022 to 19 May 2027)”.
- The Common Application Form will open. Enter all the required details in the input fields and upload all mandatory documents.
- After successfully entering the information, verify all the details and click on the “Submit” button to complete the application process.
