Handicapped Students Stipend Mizoram - Introduction

The Handicapped Students Stipend scheme was launched by the Social Welfare & Tribal Affairs Department, Government of Mizoram. Under this scheme, financial support is provided to differently-abled students for purchasing essential items such as books and uniforms. Students enrolled in both government and private schools are eligible to receive a monthly stipend.

Benefits

  • Up to Class 4th – ₹30/- per month per student (₹360/- per annum)
  • Class 5th to Class 7th – ₹40/- per month per student (₹480/- per annum)
  • Class 8th to Class 12th – ₹85/- per month per student (₹1020/- per annum)

Eligibility

  • The applicant should be a resident of Mizoram.
  • The applicant should be a disabled person.
  • The applicant should be a student enrolled in a government or private school.
  • The applicant should be from a Below Poverty Line (BPL) family.

Application Process

  • Step 1: The applicant writes the application on plain paper.
  • Step 2: In the application form attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attestation, if required).
  • Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application along with the documents to the District Social Welfare Office.
  • Step 4: Request a receipt or acknowledgment from the concerned authority to whom the application has been submitted. Ensure that the receipt contains essential details such as the date and time of submission, and a unique identification number (if applicable).
