Gambhir Bimari Sahayata Yojana is a scheme by the government of Uttar Pradesh, India, to provide financial assistance to registered construction workers for treatment of serious illnesses.
Gambhir Bimari Sahayata Yojana - Introduction
The Uttar Pradesh Gambhir Bimari Sahayata Yojana is a government-funded scheme that provides financial assistance to construction workers who are not covered under the Ayushman Bharat Jan Arogya Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, as per the UP Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
Benefits will be provided to the family members of the construction worker in case of illness, for treatment in any government hospital or autonomous hospital of the Government of India or the Uttar Pradesh Government, or in hospitals that have been empanelled by the National Health Authority of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana or SACHIS (State Agency for Comprehensive Health Insurance and Integrated Services) functioning at the state level.
Benefits
- Full reimbursement of an amount equivalent to the benefit payable under Ayushman Bharat Scheme on treatment in government/autonomous hospitals or SACHIS empaneled hospitals.
- In case of medical/surgical treatment, an advance amount can also be paid to the hospital after the hospital provides an estimate for the treatment.
- No maximum amount is fixed.
- The scheme covers the cost of treatment for a variety of serious illnesses, including:
- Heart surgery
- Kidney transplant
- Liver transplant
- Brain surgery
- Knee replacement surgery
- Cancer treatment
- Eye surgery
- Stone removal surgery
- Appendix surgery
- Hydrocele surgery
- Breast cancer surgery for women
- Cervical cancer surgery
- Also covers diseases under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Mukhya Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
Eligibility
Applicant must be a registered worker under the labor department.
Beneficiary cannot receive similar government scheme benefits such as Pradhan Mantri Jan-Arogya Yojana and Chief Minister Jan-Arogya Yojana.
Only the following family members are covered:
- Self
- Dependent parents
- Spouse (husband/wife)
- Daughter
- Son (only if below 21 years of age)

- Choose District.
- Enter Mobile Number.
- Submit the registration request.
