The "Ambedkar International Scholarship - SC" Scheme by the Rajasthan Social Justice and Empowerment Department provides financial assistance to meritorious SC students for pursuing Ph.D. studies in foreign universities in Humanities and Social Sciences.
Ambedkar International Scholarship - SC - Introduction
The “Ambedkar International Scholarship - SC” scheme by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Rajasthan aims to support meritorious scheduled caste (SC) students in pursuing Ph.D. studies in foreign universities. Under this scheme, financial assistance is provided to SC students enrolled in Ph.D. programs in Humanities and Social Sciences. The scheme is implemented by the Rajasthan Residential Educational Institutions Society (RAJEDU).
Benefits
Financial Assistance: ₹25,00,000/- is granted to selected candidates in three installments:
- ₹10,00,000/- in the first year
- ₹10,00,000/- in the second year
- ₹5,00,000/- in the third year
Scholarship Validity: Up to three years.
Eligibility
- The applicant must be a resident of Rajasthan.
- The applicant must belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category.
- The applicant must have completed a postgraduate degree from a recognised Indian university with a minimum of 55% marks.
- The applicant must have secured admission to a Ph.D. program in a foreign university accredited by the respective country's authority.
- The applicant's age must be below 35 years as of the application deadline.
- The applicant's family annual income should not exceed ₹6,00,000/-.
- The applicant should not be a beneficiary of any other government scholarship program.
- The Ph.D. program must be in one of the following fields:
- Sociology.
- Public Administration.
- Law.
- Economics.
- Political Science.
- Anthropology.
Application Process
- Application Process: Applicants must apply within one month from the date of advertisement issued by the State Government for the scholarship.
- The application form must be accompanied by documents related to age, annual income, caste, and proposed syllabus/subject for the Ph.D. program.
- Income certificate must be submitted in the prescribed format issued by the State Government.
- The application form for the scholarship should be sent to: Secretary, Ambedkar Peeth, Mundla, Jamdoli, Jaipur (Email ID: [email protected])
- Every year, the student must submit progress reports and details of the research work undertaken to the concerned department. The department will review and record the completed research work accordingly.
- State-Level Approval Committee: From the completely received application forms, a maximum of five applicants will be selected and approved by the State-Level Approval Committee.
- Process for Disbursement of Scholarship Funds: Selected candidates under the scheme will be awarded scholarships for a maximum period of three years.
- The candidate must submit a certificate of admission from the educational institution/university where they are pursuing the Ph.D., duly signed by the institution head.
- A certificate of attendance from the institution/university where the candidate is pursuing the Ph.D. must be submitted.
- Upon approval of the scholarship amount, the Director & Special Secretary, Social Justice & Empowerment Department, Rajasthan, Jaipur will issue the funds either through a cheque or direct bank transfer into the account of the concerned student.
- Additionally, from time to time, the Director & Special Secretary, Social Justice & Empowerment Department, Rajasthan will receive academic progress reports of the selected Ph.D. students from the respective universities/institutes.
