The aim of the scheme is to provide Social Security to Widowers who are unable to sustain themselves from their own sources and are in need of financial assistance from the State.
The scheme is implemented by the Maharashtra Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. Under this scheme, financial assistance of ₹24,000/- p.a. up to 5 years to the widow or widower in case of death of a registered worker during the course of employment.
“Family Pension (GBOCWWB)” is a Welfare Scheme by the Goa Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board of the Dept of Labour and Employment, Goa. Through this scheme, in the event of the death of the pensioner of the Board, a 50% pension or ₹200, whichever is higher, is given to the spouse.
Under this scheme, silicosis-affected workers confirmed by the Silicosis Diagnosis Board will receive a one-time assistance of ₹5,00,000. If the worker dies before receiving the assistance, the amount will be payable to the widow or widower if married, or to one of the living parents if unmarried.
