“Cash Grant in lieu of Sewing Machine” is a Welfare Scheme by the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund of the Dept of Sainik Welfare, Puducherry. Through this scheme, ₹10,000/- is provided to the Widows of Ex-servicemen for the purchase of a Sewing Machine. The applications are accepted offline.
“Spectacle Grant” is a Welfare Scheme by the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund of the Dept of Sainik Welfare, Puducherry. Through this scheme, ₹2,000/- to the Ex-servicemen/Widows of Ex-servicemen for the purchase of Spectacle. The members of the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme are not eligible.
The scheme “AASRA Scheme” was launched by the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Jammu & Kashmir in 2015 to provide Social Security cover to widows, Destitute, Below Poverty Line families and Breadwinners of such families whose annual income is less than ₹75000/-.
The “Nari Niketans” were established in 1976 by the Social Welfare Department, Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir wherein deserted /destitute ladies/ widows having no means of livelihood are given admissions. There are seven Nari Niketan in Jammu & Kashmir. This is a 100% State Sponsored Scheme.
“Subsistence Allowance” is a Welfare Scheme by the Dept of Sainik Welfare, Puducherry. The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the Veterans of the Second World War, Non-pensioners ESM above 60 years under “Below the Poverty Line (BPL)”, and their widows.
“Funeral Grant” is a Welfare Scheme by the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund of the Department of Sainik Welfare, Puducherry. Through this scheme, funeral Assistance of ₹12,000/- or ₹10,000/- is provided in the event of death of the ex-Serviceman (ESM) or of the Widow of the ESM respectively.
“Grant to Meritorious Wards of ESM in Sports: National / International Level” is a Welfare Scheme by the Department of Sainik Welfare, Puducherry. The meritorious wards of the ESM are provided grants for their achievements in sports at national and international levels. The application is offline.
“Relief During Natural Calamities Such as Cyclone, Flood or Fire” is a Welfare Scheme by the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund of the Dept of Sainik Welfare, Puducherry. Through this scheme, up to ₹40,000/- is provided to the registered ESM / Widows/Dependents of ESM as a relief during natural calamities.
“Denture Grant” is a scheme by the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund of the Dept of Sainik Welfare, Puducherry. ₹20,000/- is provided for the purchase of Denture to the registered ESM/Widows of ESM. The members of the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) are not eligible.
“Immediate Assistance for Severe Injury in Road/Fire Accident” is a Welfare Scheme by the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund of the Dept of Sainik Welfare, Puducherry. Through this scheme, ₹25,000/- is provided to the registered Ex-servicemen/Widows of Ex-servicemen who have suffered a Road/Fire Accident.
Through this scheme, the academically meritorious wards of the ESM / Widows of ESM pursuing higher education are provided cash incentive of ₹1,000 per month. The application should be submitted within three months from the date of publication of the result of the respective exam.
A non-contributory pension scheme to provide social security to widows of poor family (BPL) of the society.
“Family Pension (GBOCWWB)” is a Welfare Scheme by the Goa Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board of the Dept of Labour and Employment, Goa. Through this scheme, in the event of the death of the pensioner of the Board, a 50% pension or ₹200, whichever is higher, is given to the spouse.
Under this scheme, silicosis-affected workers confirmed by the Silicosis Diagnosis Board will receive a one-time assistance of ₹5,00,000. If the worker dies before receiving the assistance, the amount will be payable to the widow or widower if married, or to one of the living parents if unmarried.
Launched on 15th August 1995, the scheme “National Social Assistance Programme” is a welfare scheme by the Social Welfare Department, Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. It provides monthly financial aid of ₹1,000/- to widows aged 40 years and above who belong to Below Poverty Line (BPL) households.
