The scheme “Abhayakiranam Scheme-Financial Assistance to Destitute Widows” was launched by the Department of Social Justice, Government of Kerala to provide a safe and better living environment to destitute and homeless widows.
The ‘E.V.R. Maniammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme for Daughters of Poor Widows: Scheme-I’ was launched by the Social Welfare and Women Empowerment Department, Tamil Nadu. The scheme aims to help poor widow mothers by providing financial assistance for the marriage of their daughters.
In the Indira Gandhi National Vidhva Pension Yojana (IGNWPS), financial support is provided to the widows of the state of Rajasthan.
Under the Scheme, Every month financial assistance is provided to the Kalyani (widow) residing in the state for providing social security and subsistence.
“One Time Cash Incentive towards Completing ITI, Typewriting, Accountancy, Bookkeeping, Tailoring, Computer Training” by the Dept of Sainik Welfare, Puducherry, provides upto ₹10,000/- to the unemployed Ex-servicemen / Widow/Dependent of the ESM to pursue the mentioned programs/courses.
Under this scheme, the Social Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka gives incentives to the remarried widows belonging to SC Community. The incentive amount is ₹ 3 Lakh.
The main purpose of the Scheme to encourage under this Yojana, women who are helpless in upbringing their children (like widows, and destitute) are provided with financial assistance per child per annum for two children.
“Housing Assistance Grant” is a social security scheme that provides financial assistance for the construction/ repair of houses to the widows, dependents of martyred soldiers, and those soldiers who have become physically disabled in various wars, border skirmishes, and internal security.
“INDIRAMMA Widow Pension (Urban)” scheme aims to provide monthly pensions to widows irrespective of their age. To be eligible, they should be from a BPL family, be a resident of a district of Andhra Pradesh, and not be covered under any other Pension Scheme.
The scheme “Festival Gift Coupons” is a Welfare Scheme by the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund of the Department of Sainik Welfare, Puducherry. The objective of the scheme is to provide Festival Gift Coupons worth ₹4,000/- per annum to the Non-Pensioner ESMs who are 60 years or older in age.
The “Dr. Dharmambal Ammaiyar Ninaivu Widow Remarriage Assistance Scheme” was launched by the Social Welfare and Women Empowerment Department, Government of Tamil Nadu. The scheme’s objective is to encourage widow remarriage and to rehabilitate widows by giving financial assistance.
The “Nirman Shramik Pension Yojana (NSPY)” scheme by the BOCW Welfare Board, Labour Department, Odisha, is a social welfare scheme that provides pension to the eligible registered beneficiary or their dependents in certain circumstances.
The scheme was started by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh in 2006. The objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance for the mass marriage of girls, widows, and abandoned women from destitute or poor families in the state.
The “Widow Pension Scheme” launched by HPBOCWWB is designed to support widows of registered beneficiaries. Through this initiative, the Board will disburse a monthly amount of ₹1,500/- to help widows manage their expenses and improve their quality of life.
The scheme is implemented by the Maharashtra Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. Under this scheme, financial assistance of ₹24,000/- p.a. up to 5 years to the widow or widower in case of death of a registered worker during the course of employment.
The scheme provides a monthly pension of ₹500/- to senior citizens, widows, and abandoned women listed on the basis of the survey list of Social, Economic and Caste Census 2011 in the state.
Under this scheme, financial assistance of up to ₹35,000/- is provided by the State Government to eligible beneficiaries (Abandoned, widowed, destitute, single, and disaster-affected women) for the purchase of one unit of goats (comprising 3 females and 1 male), aged between 12 to 18 months.
The scheme aims to provide contractual employment opportunities. It supports ex-servicemen, their dependents, and widows by sponsoring them for contractual posts based on qualifications and district-wise vacancies.
The Department of Social Welfare of Uttarakhand provides a monthly pension to widows belonging to the BPL category.
The “Mangalya Scheme” was launched by the Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Kerala. Under the scheme, financial assistance is to be provided to eligible widows and divorced women for their remarriage.
