The Punjabi government has established the Punjab Ashirwad Scheme to offer financial support for a girl’s marriage.

Mukhyamantri Samajik Samrasta Antarjatiya Vivah Shagun Yojana

The scheme is implemented by Welfare of Scheduled Castes & Backward Classes Dept., Govt. of Haryana to promote communal harmony by encouraging inter-caste marriages. The scheme provides financial assistance of ₹2.5 lakhs to couple when a Non-Scheduled Caste boy or girl marries with a SC girl/boy.

Mukhya Mantri Vivah Shagun Yojna

This scheme is being implemented to honor the girl child and to ensure that the girls from poor families and daughters of widows/destitute women, sports women & orphan girl children, are married gracefully. For this purpose, grant is given to eligible persons to cover marriage expenses.
