The “Sugarcane Development Scheme” by the Sugarcane Development and Sugar Industry, Govt of Uttarakhand, aims to support quality sugarcane cultivation. It provides subsidies to farmers for nursery development, seed/soil treatment, and sett treatment to manage pests and diseases.
The “Quality Paddy Seed Distribution” Scheme offers a subsidy of ₹5/- per kg on certified paddy seeds.
National Food Security Mission was launched in 2007-08 to increase the production of rice, wheat and pulses. Later, coarse cereals, nutri cereals, commercial crops (sugarcane, jute, and cotton) were also added to the mission.
