The scheme “The Andaman & Nicobar Islands Widow Pension Scheme” is implemented by the Directorate of Social Welfare, Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands to provide financial assistance to poor and destitute widows in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Launched on 13th August 2013, the “Funeral Assistance Scheme” by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. Madhya Pradesh provides ₹3,000/- for the last rites of destitute or unclaimed bodies. The scheme also supports families registered under labour schemes.
The ‘Pension to Unmarried Poor, Incapacitated Women of age 50 years and above’ was launched by the Social Welfare and Women Empowerment Department, Tamil Nadu. The scheme aims to provide a pension of ₹1,000/- to unmarried, poor, incapacitated women of age 50 years and above.
The Tripura Health Assurance Scheme for Poor (THASP) was instituted to provide financial assistance as cashless treatment with health coverage of up to Rs. 1.15 lakh per annum to individuals in the state who fall below the poverty line and have an annual income of less than Rs. 1.5 lakh.
The ‘Chief Minister’s Girl Child Protection Scheme-I’ was launched by the Social Welfare and Women Empowerment Department, Govt. of Tamil Nadu. The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to girl children of poor families as well as to promote girl child education & eradicate female infanticide.
The scheme “Training in Coir” by the Dept of Industries and Commerce, UT of Puducherry aims to promote and develop Coir and Coir-based industries in the region. Additionally, it focuses on providing a 6-month training to the rural poor in producing coir products to generate employment.
This scheme aims to provide financial assistance to poor brides living below the poverty line to meet their marriage expenses. The assistance amount is ₹25,000, and it is granted for the first marriage of the bride. The scheme is implemented through the Department of Women and Child Development.
