The government of Bihar launched the “Niji Talabon Ka Jirnoddhar Ki Yojana” scheme aims to enhance the water holding capacity of private ponds to boost fish productivity & production as well as provide benefits to private fish farmers through the expansion/renovation of their ponds.
The “Rearing Pond Construction Scheme” by the Department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Cooperation, Government of Jharkhand, aims to promote fish farming by providing financial aid for constructing rearing ponds. Beneficiaries receive up to 80% government assistance for Scheduled Castes (SC)
The objective of this scheme is to increase the inland fish production, and to enhance the income of farmers in the State though aquaculture. Input assistance is provided to the farmers who have excavated farm ponds under MGNREGA for facilitating the production of fingerling and fish.
The “Machha Chasa Pain Nua Pokhari Khola Yojana (Matsya Pokhari Yojana)” aims to boost fish production in Odisha by creating new water bodies through pond excavation. It targets income generation & employment via freshwater aquaculture. Subsidies are available for pond areas between 0.2 to 2 hectare
The objective of the scheme is to provide full-time employment to individuals from Scheduled Caste families in the fisheries sector and to uplift these families by promoting fish farming through financial assistance for leasing Panchayati ponds or watershed areas.
The scheme aims to promote sustainable fish farming through cluster-based pond development. It provides 50% subsidy for pond construction and first-year inputs to eligible individuals and groups.
