The scheme enables artisans and handicraft organizations to participate in government-sponsored melas across Gujarat and other states, fostering market access and preserving traditional crafts. Benefits include subsidized stall fees, promotional support, sales opportunities for handmade products.
The scheme provides 5–20% rebates on sales of handicraft goods to cooperatives, with higher incentives for women-led groups and during festivals. Applications are submitted online via e-Kutir.
The “Outstanding Artisan of the Year” award is conferred upon the artisan who has been a participant for 3 years in National / International handicraft exhibitions/fairs. The awardee is given a cash award of ₹2,00,000/- and a citation. The applications are accepted offline in the prescribed form.
The scheme provides loans of up to ₹10,00,000/- to artisans & handicraft persons from backward classes to preserve traditional arts and crafts. The scheme also offers training to upgrade their existing skills with the latest technological inputs, such as the use of computers, CAD, etc.

“Monthly Grant To Old Crafts Persons (Pension)” by the Department of Industries and Commerce, Union Territory of Puducherry, aims to provide pensions to artisans in their old age, recognizing their contribution to traditional crafts. Eligible craftspersons receive a monthly grant of ₹2,000/-.
The “Gen Next Competition” scheme was launched by the Department of Handlooms, Handicrafts, Textiles & Khadi, Govt. of Tamil Nadu. A craft competition was started from the year 2013-2014 to encourage the youth to retain the traditional handicrafts of Tamil Nadu & pass them on to the next generation.
The scheme aims to empower tribal women artisans of Tharu, Boksa and Other Tribal Communities through specialized training and marketing opportunities and ensures the provision of financial assistance for travel, logistics, and stall rent for participating artisans.
The sub-scheme “Infrastructure and Technology Support” aims to develop world-class infrastructure in the country to support handicraft production, enhance product quality, and reduce costs to enable it to compete in the global market.
The “Team Production Award” scheme was launched by the Handlooms, Handicrafts, Textiles, & Khadi Department, Government of Tamil Nadu. This award is being given to artisans for handicraft items to be made by a team. This award will be given to 3 groups every year with a cash prize etc…..
Through this scheme, Promotion Campaigns, Exhibitions, Trade Fairs, Investors Meets, Seminars etc., are arranged in important towns/cities of India and abroad, to attract industries to invest in Puducherry. This will help them in increasing the marketability of these products.
“Grant To Handicrafts Societies” by the Department of Industries and Commerce, UT of Puducherry aims to encourage the creation of Handicrafts Societies to enhance coordination and skill among craftspeople. Grants are provided to registered societies for organizing or participating in exhibitions.
The scheme “Direct Benefit to Artisans – Supports to Artisans in Indigent Circumstances” is designed to give a boost to the handicraft sector in India. Assistance of upto ₹8,000/- per month is granted to the Artisans in Indigent Circumstances in the form of monthly allowance/lump sum grant/ both.
The Scheme intends to provide financial assistance in the form of grant to the artisans in the handicrafts sector for setting up handicraft enterprises. The assistance is a one time support to eligible artisans of the state as back end assistance.
The scheme “Infrastructure & Technology Support: URBAN HAAT” is introduced is to set up a permanent marketing infrastructure in towns/ metropolitan cities to provide direct marketing facilities to handicrafts artisans/handloom weavers, enabling them to sell their products to wider target audience.
The “NHDP: Research & Development Scheme” is introduced to generate feedback on economic, social, aesthetic, and promotional aspects of various crafts and artisans in the handicraft sector. The surveys and studies are sponsored/conducted to generate suitable inputs for planning purposes.
The “Exhibition” scheme by the Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Puducherry, was introduced to boost the marketability of handicrafts and enhance sales through the organization of exhibitions. These exhibitions are conducted locally and in various states of the country.
In this scheme, financial support will be provided via the Industrial Associations, Handicrafts Societies and Recognized Institutions for promotion of Handicrafts, Coir, Jute, Micro and Small Industrial products, i.e. for acquiring suitable buildings/premises & providing infrastructure facilities.
