Financial Assistance for Scaling Mount Everest and Other Inaccessible Mountains of the World - Introduction
The scheme "Financial Assistance for Scaling Mount Everest and Other Inaccessible Mountains of the World" by the Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities Department, Government of Gujarat, aims to encourage and reward mountaineers who demonstrate extraordinary courage and determination by scaling some of the most difficult mountain peaks in the world. The scheme offers tiered financial assistance based on the height and difficulty of the peak climbed, ranging from ₹50,000 to ₹15,00,000, with the maximum incentive awarded to individuals who successfully scale Mt. Everest. The scheme is implemented by the Commissioner, Youth Services and Cultural Activities, Gandhinagar.
Benefits
- Financial assistance ranging from ₹50,000 to ₹10,00,000 is provided to individuals depending on the height and difficulty of the mountain scaled.
- A maximum of ₹15,00,000 is provided to those who successfully climb Mount Everest.
Eligibility
- The applicant should have successfully scaled Mount Everest or other inaccessible mountains of the world.
- The applicant should be aged between 18 to 45 years as on 31st December of the respective year.
- The applicant should be a resident of Gujarat, Mount Abu, or any other Indian state.
- The applicant from Gujarat or Mount Abu should have completed a coaching course from the Swami Vivekananda Mountaineering Institute, Mount Abu.
- The applicant must be physically and mentally fit.
- The applicant must not have any criminal record.
- The applicant who has already participated once in the camp during the same year will not be allowed to participate again.
- The applicant should have provided services in Artificial Rock Climbing Courses or Coaching Courses held at Mount Abu.
- The applicant must have completed the Method of Instructor Course and Search and Rescue Course.
- The applicant should possess sufficient mountaineering experience and certifications relevant to instructing rock climbing activities.
- The applicant must be one of the following:
- A subject expert or experienced individual from any Ministry or Department of the Government.
- A representative of an international or national mountaineering association or institution recognized by the government.
- A person who has received National or International awards/medals or has similar significant achievements in mountaineering from recognized associations.
Note: Preference will be given to applicants who are participating for the first time.
Application Process
- Step 1: The interested applicant should download the prescribed format of the application form.
- Step 2: In the application form, provide all the mandatory details, and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attested, if required).
- Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the supporting documents to the below mentioned address.
- Step 4: Request a receipt or acknowledgement from the concerned authority to whom the application has been submitted.
