Under the scheme, a member of the fund who has been working as a building worker for not less than one year after the commencement of these rules shall on completion of sixty years of age be eligible for the pension.
Pension Plan (MBOCWWB) - Introduction
The scheme “Pension Plan” is a social security scheme, implemented by the Meghalaya Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (MBOCWWB), Labour Department, Government of Meghalaya.
Under the scheme, a member of the fund who has been working as a building worker for not less than one year after the commencement of these rules shall on completion of sixty years of age be eligible for a pension.
The pension will become payable from the 60th year of the month succeeding the month in which he completed 60 years of age.
Benefits
- Under the scheme, the registered worker who has been working as a building worker for not less than one year shall receive an amount of ₹1,000/- per month as pension.
Eligibility
- The beneficiary should be a resident of Meghalaya.
- The beneficiary should be engaged in a building or other construction work.
- The beneficiary should be registered under the Meghalaya Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
- The registered workers who have been working as building workers for not less than one year shall be eligible to receive pension benefits under the scheme.
- The registered worker shall become eligible to avail pension benefits upon attaining the age of 60 years.
Application Process
- Step 01: The complete megbocwwb.gov.in along with the required documents is required to be submitted before the Registering Officer of the area.
- Step 02: The Registering Officer, after satisfying himself/herself with all the details, may register the worker as a beneficiary under the Act and issue an identity card affixing the photograph of the worker.
- Step 01: A copy of the prescribed megbocwwb.gov.in duly signed by the applicant shall be submitted to the concerned employer.
- Step 02: The employer is required to countersign the complete application and submit it to the Building & Other Construction Workers' Welfare Board for consideration.
