Under the scheme, financial assistance shall be provided to registered construction workers for their own marriage. This assistance shall also be sanctioned for the marriage of all adult children of a worker subject to production of proper documentation such as Marriage Certificates etc.

Marriage Benefit (MBOCWWB) - Introduction

The scheme “Marriage Benefit” is a social security scheme, implemented by the Meghalaya Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (MBOCWWB), Labour Department, Government of Meghalaya.

Under the scheme, financial assistance shall be provided to registered construction workers for their own marriage. This assistance shall also be sanctioned for the marriage of all adult children of a worker subject to the production of proper documentation such as Marriage Certificates etc.

Benefits

  • The financial assistance of ₹5,000/- shall be given to the registered workers for their own marriage.
  • The financial assistance of ₹5,000/- shall be provided to registered workers for the marriage of all their adult children, subject to the production of proper documentation such as Marriage Certificates, etc.

Eligibility

  • The beneficiary should be a resident of Meghalaya.
  • The beneficiary should be engaged in a building or other construction work.
  • The beneficiary should be registered under the Meghalaya Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
  • The workers having continuous membership for 3 years shall be eligible to get financial assistance under the scheme.
  • The registered workers can apply for financial assistance for their own marriage. A registered worker can avail of this assistance once only.
  • The registered workers can apply for financial assistance for the marriage of all their adult children, subject to the production of proper documentation such as Marriage Certificates, etc.

Application Process

  • Step 01: The complete megbocwwb.gov.in along with the required documents is required to be submitted before the Registering Officer of the area.
  • Step 02: The Registering Officer, after satisfying himself/herself with all the details, may register the worker as a beneficiary under the Act and issue an identity card affixing the photograph of the worker.
  • Step 01: A copy of the prescribed megbocwwb.gov.in duly signed by the applicant shall be submitted to the concerned employer.
  • Step 02: The employer is required to countersign the complete application and submit it to the Building & Other Construction Workers' Welfare Board for consideration.
